Chaise, Louis Delanois (1731-1792) Paris, the Louvre Museum.

Due to the straight back this armchair is called “meublante”, it was usually leant against a wall as a parade piece of furniture. The fabric that covers the armchair was woven in Beauvais, following a project made by Boucher. The main characteristic is the “dossier plat”.
